SARA offers an easily configurable Portable Appendix A Test Set (PAATS) designed to provide MIL-STD compliant shielding effectiveness (SE) measurements. This system is fully compliant with the MIL-STD required dynamic range across the required frequency span (10 kHz – 1 GHz) and can be utilized for precertification, certification, hardness assurance, and hardness surveillance.
When combined with the optional HF-SA-17l antennas (add link to), the coupled system produces a complete, turn-key, MIL-STD compliant test set. The PAATS graphical interface guides the user through the MIL-STD SE test beginning at calibration and culminating in report quality SE graphs, allowing the user to produce quality real-time documentation. In addition, PAATS includes a sniffer application, so that trouble frequencies can be localized spatially and red-tagged for re-work.

SARA offers the Shielding Effectiveness Test Set (SETS) for low-risk, high-confidence HEMP survivability and EMSEC assessment. SETS is a portable, turn-key testing system that quantifies the shielding effectiveness of enclosures, panels, racks, containers, etc. with dynamic range of at least 100 dB.
SETS is available in two models: SETS-10 and SETS-18, with operating frequencies of 1 GHz – 10 GHz and 1 GHz – 18 GHz, respectively. Both models work with the same SARA-developed software and antenna set (link to). Our SETS software produces report quality SE graphs, allowing the user to produce real-time documentation during testing.

SARA offers a Shielding Effectiveness Automated Monitoring System (SEAMS) designed to provide a fully automated hardness surveillance system, fulfilling the MIL-STD SELDS requirement. SEAMS is capable of nearly continuous monitoring of a shielded enclosure. It reports measurements in an easy-to-interpret, chronologically stamped data format over a standard IP network infrastructure.
SEAMS is highly customizable and can be tailored to meet almost any need. It can be configured in size and used as a permanent installation in standard telecom or server cabinets, controlled by a host computer running the SEAMS Measurement and Reporting Software (SMaRS). The system can also be modified to operate as an “on the shelf” system.
